Oncology Physiotherapy & Occupational Rehabilitation

Cancer surgeries, prolonged chemotherapies, and radiation treatments frequently leave patients with physical deconditioning, reduced range of motion, muscle wasting, and functional challenges. At PCRI, recovery encompasses restoring functional independence and physical vitality. Through strategic tie-ups with Specialized Oncology Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapy Centers, we deliver structured rehabilitation programs throughout the treatment journey.

Specialized Oncology Physiotherapy

  • Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) for Lymphedema:

Post-mastectomy breast cancer patients and those undergoing pelvic lymphadenectomy are vulnerable to chronic arm or leg lymphedema. Our tie-ups feature certified lymphedema therapists providing Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), short-stretch compression bandaging, pneumatic gradient pumps, and custom compression garment fittings.

  • Cancer-Related Fatigue (CRF) Exercise Programs:

Scientifically designed, light-to-moderate aerobic conditioning and resistance training proven to counteract profound fatigue caused by systemic cytotoxic drugs.

  • Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN) Rehab:

Neuromuscular re-education, sensory stimulation, balance board training, and fall-risk reduction protocols for patients experiencing numbness or tingling in hands and feet.

  • Post-Surgical Mobility Restoration:

Early mobilization exercises following head & neck resections, mastectomy, thoracic surgery, or limb-sparing sarcoma operations to restore shoulder, neck, and joint articulation.

Occupational Therapy & Daily Living Independence

  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Training: Assisting patients in regaining mastery over feeding, dressing, grooming, and mobility with minimal fatigue.
  • Energy Conservation Techniques: Guiding patients and working professionals on pacing daily activities, workplace ergonomics, and cognitive energy management.
  • Adaptive Equipment & Home Environment Modifications: Assessing home environments and prescribing safety adaptations (grab bars, shower chairs, transfer boards) to maximize autonomy and prevent domestic injuries.
